King Of The Hill Season 15 Debuts To Rare Rotten Tomatoes Score

King of the Hill is back for season 15 on Hulu, and the animated comedy has debuted with a stunning critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Back in 2023, Hulu announced it was reviving King of the Hill after its cancellation on FOX, and the series finally returned two years later on the Disney-owned streaming service following a 15-year hiatus. After the new season's success, Hulu announced that another installment would be coming in 2026, and it only premiered on July 20 with all 10 episodes.

Alongside its premiere on Hulu, King of the Hill season 15 debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a jaw-dropping 100%. Critics are calling the new season comedic gold, funny, and endearing. The new episodes are putting a spotlight on real-world issues, like the loneliness epidemic.

If season 14 was like dipping its toes back into the franchise, then season 15 is leaning into the best parts of King of the Hill and proving that the show's return wasn't a fluke, according to reviewers. One critic even went so far as to call it one of the best TV revivals ever.

The revival was already a hit with critics when the show came back in 2025, as King of the Hill season 14 has a Certified Fresh score of 98%, which means the brand-new season has surpassed what was already an impressive score.

Across its entire run on the air, not every season received enough reviews to earn a Rotten Tomatoes score, but the debut installment, which aired in 1997, got mostly positive reviews and an 87% score. Seasons 5 and 13 (with the latter being its final run on FOX) are sitting at 100% each. An audience score for the new season hasn't been generated yet, but the series as a whole has an 81%.

Created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, King of the Hill centers on Hank Hill as he deals with an evolving society while trying to hold on to his traditional values. He and his family live in Arlen, Texas, alongside humorous and quirky neighbors and friends.

The revival, which featured a time jump, began with the Hills coming back to Texas after Hank spent time working in Saudi Arabia. The voice cast includes Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Toby Huss, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, Tai Leclaire, Ronny Chieng, and Ashley Gardner.

The series has received numerous award nominations over the years and has won for Outstanding Animated Program and Outstanding Voice-Over Performance at the Emmys.

It's currently nominated for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance (Adlon) at the Creative Arts Emmys against shows like Bridgerton, The Simpsons, South Park, The Muppet Show and Invincible; the winners will be announced on September 5 and 6, just over a week before the Primetime Emmys.

King of the Hill season 15 won't be the end of the revival. Last fall, Hulu announced it was renewing the long-running show for an additional two seasons.
