Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy hits Xbox Game Pass as Witcher 3 leaves

Xbox Game Pass subscribers won't have any shortage of games to play during the rest of August, as Microsoft just announced a packed second wave of games for the month. There are some big games leaving the service soon as well though.

The biggest launch of the bunch is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, the latest game by Asobo Studio that serves as a prequel to the hit series. Touting a new protagonist and a dual-timeline story, the title is taking a more action route than previous games. This is a day-one drop too, letting Game Pass subscribers jump in alongside buyers for no extra cost.

Here are all the games that were announced today for Xbox Game Pass, their supported platforms, and arrival dates:

• Egging On (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC) – August 18
• Vapor World: Over the Mind (Game Preview) (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 19
• BlazBlue Entropy Effect X (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) – August 19
• Relooted (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) – August 19
• Starsand Island (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) – August 20
• Aerial_Knight's DropShot (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC) – August 25
• Blood Dungeon (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) – August 25
• Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC) – August 27
• Young Suns (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 31
• Shelldiver (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 1

As new games arrive, six titles will be leaving the Game Pass programs, and that includes CD Projekt RED's most popular game. On August 31, members will lose The Witcher 3, Another Crab’s Treasure, I Am Your Beast, Neon Abyss, and One Lonely Outpost. Then on September 6, NBA 2K26 is leaving the program too.

With the final Game Pass announcement of August out of the way, expect the next wave to be unveiled in a couple of weeks as a part of the September drops.
