A Tale Of Two Cities Trailer Reveals Kit Harington's Adaptation Of 167-Year-Old Classic
Kit Harington's new show debuts its first trailer.
The actor, best known for his run as Jon Snow on the hit HBO show, will soon star in A Tale of Two Cities on MGM+. It is an adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens novel, which was published in 1859.
MGM+ has now revealed the new trailer for A Tale of Two Cities, which debuts September 6.
The MGM+ version of the classic novel takes place in London during 1782. At that time, tensions are undeniably high between France and Britain. It's against this backdrop that a young woman, Lucie Manette (Miss Austen's Mirren Mack), experiences a significant shift in her life when she receives an unexpected message from Paris. The message reveals that her father, assumed dead for nearly two decades, could actually still be alive.
The person who delivers the message, the idealistic French outcast, Charles Darnay (played by Musketeers star François Civil), is arrested and charged with treason. Lucie enlists the help of the brilliant but erratic lawyer, Sydney Carton (Harington), to help. Lucie hopes that Carton can free the outcast and ultimately help to find her father.
