Give Animated Characters Realistic Jiggle Motion With This Unity Tool
Great for breasts, bellies, tails, and more.
Rawad Akar, the developer behind Self-Balancing Active Ragdoll, has launched Flesh Dynamics, which adds procedural soft-body motion and collision response to animated characters in Unity. With this tool, you can paint directly onto your character to choose where soft-tissue physics should apply. Adjust the response and let the system handle jiggle, compression, and natural deformation while keeping the volume of soft areas intact.
The whole character can still have collisions, while unpainted areas stay rigid and follow the animation normally. Rigidbody objects can also interact with the character, hitting and compressing the soft areas before bouncing back.
It works on top of your existing rig and animations, so you don't need to change your setup. Built-in painting tools let you paint, erase, smooth, and preview the affected areas directly in the Unity Editor.
Flesh Dynamics uses GPU vertex deformation, Unity Jobs, and Burst to keep things lightweight and supports Unity 2022 and Unity 6. It also supports Built-in, URP, and HDRP. As for performance, the dev says it depends on the project, but it should be fine:
"Performance was a big focus while building it. The system is designed to only simulate the areas that actually need deformation rather than treating the whole character like a full soft-body simulation, so it's quite lightweight in normal use. The exact cost depends on mesh density, how much of the body you're simulating, and how many characters you have simultaneously. Those demos you see in the video run at 300+ FPS."
