Chilla's Art Meets Fears to Fathom in This Low-Poly Horror Game

Serve or be served.

Horror game makers have a weird fascination with night shifts at cafes and stores. I guess I see the appeal: monotonous actions can be interrupted by spooky events when you least expect them, so this formula works well for many developers.

Arcadia Cafe might remind you of Fears to Fathom with its retro low-poly visuals and Chilla's Art games with its mechanics. This "domestic horror" set in a nameless Ukrainian city in the early 2000s sees you work a night shift as a student, Alina, who simply tries to earn some money by serving bizarre characters.

Enjoy the VHS aesthetic, do your job, go home, and make sure you wake up the next day. The developers, Judas Brothers and Rassl.me, have something to show you in the shadows.

And if you've played the game before, you might want to revisit it: Arcadia Cafe received an update earlier in July, which gives Alina closure.
