Resident Evil remake trilogy gets huge 58% discount, lowest price in months
Gamers around the world are hopefully spending their evenings playing some spooky games this week, with some of the best ever made now cheaper than ever on PlayStation.
When you think about the spookiest gaming franchises of all-time, Silent Hill and Resident Evil are the two undisputed kings of video game horror.
While Silent Hill is still playing catch-up with its remakes, with the first game being reworked as we speak, Resident Evil has a huge lead, with the first four mainline games all having modernised ways to play.
If you’re yet to play them, or fancy replaying them on a different platform, you’re encouraged to check out the Resident Evil Remake Trilogy on the PlayStation Store, which has seen a hefty price cut this month.
The trilogy is currently listed as its lowest price in months, $29.39 instead of $69.99. That’s a great deal considering you’re getting over 130 hours of gameplay.
In this bundle, you get the definitive versions of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 with all DLCs included.
The Resident Evil remakes play best on PS5, here’s why

I’ve got all of the Resident Evil remakes on my Xbox Series X, but over the last year, I’ve been waiting for them to go on sale on the PlayStation Store so I can replay them.
Why? Because these games feel fantastic with the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, especially Resident Evil 4.
Resident Evil 2 features basic haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support, and the same can be said for Resident Evil 3, though that game also throws in colour shifts on your controller to monitor your in-game health.
Resident Evil 4, however, kicks things up a notch. You get everything mentioned so far, which makes the gunplay feel even more satisfying. Triggers having the appropriate weight when using a shotgun never gets old, but what I’m personally fond of is the in-game voice calls being played through the controller’s speaker. It does wonders for the immersion and makes you feel like you’re really a part of Leon’s mission.
There’s probably a hint of nostalgia in this collection too. While it’s a multi-platform series now, Resident Evil began its life on PlayStation hardware, so despite it not being a PlayStation IP, I’d always consider it one at heart.
Either way, even looking past the bells and whistles of PlayStation’s new-gen system, you’re still getting three fantastic, and complete, remakes for a mere $29.39.
Given how many hours you’ll sink into these games with repeat playthroughs and the Mercenaries mode, that price is more than worth it and there’s no better time to play than Halloween week.
