PlayStation Plus October free game update includes loss of 7 titles

PlayStation Plus is in the midst of rolling out its September extra and premium tier offerings in the UK, USA, and Japan, with the full line-up now available in other territories.

In case you missed it, this month, extra users can enjoy the following titles:

• RuneScape: Dragonwilds (September 15)
• WWE 2K26 (September 15)
• BALL X PIT (September 22)
• Date Everything! (September 9 in US/UK, September 10 in Japan)
• Slitterhead (September 22)
• Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (September 29)
• Dungeons of Hinterberg (September 29)
• Sniper Elite: Resistance (September 29)

On top of that, premium users can also look forward to Mega Man X Command Mission (September 15) and Metro Redux (September 15).

With new arrivals having landed, that means it’s time to look at what will be leaving PlayStation Plus in October.

The Australian departing line-up has now been confirmed, with seven titles set to depart PlayStation Plus next month.

Worldwide confirmation should land in the coming hours, but the line-up doesn’t tend to drastically differ from one territory to the next.

Here is every game departing PlayStation Plus in October 2026

• Silent Hill 2
• Yakuza: Like A Dragon
• Gloomhaven
• Jurassic World: Evolution 2
• Rogue Lords
• Lake
• Death Squared

Silent Hill 2 and Yakuza: Like A Dragon are easily the biggest losses this month, having come from two beloved major franchises.

However, you can complete the former in 16 to 32 hours, so you could easily play it before it leaves PlayStation Plus in around four weeks time.

Yakuza: Lika A Dragon has a runtime of anything from 45 to 100 hours, so you may struggle to fit that one in. Anyone who’s played a Yakuza game will know how strong the franchise’s offering of side content is.

If you want a quick guide to the other titles, Gloomhaven is a 2021 tactical RPG that Baldur’s Gate 3 fans may get a kick out of. It’s 90 to 180 hours to see off this one, so good luck getting it done before that departure deadline.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 probably needs little introduction as the second installment in Frontier Developments’ beloved management simulation series.

As a management sim, you can enjoy endless hours within Jurassic World Evolution 2, but you can probably work through the majority of main and side quests in under 40 hours.

Rogue Lords is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a roguelike where you’ll lead disciples, take down demon hunters, and use your powers to spread terror and corruption.

It’ll take you 25 to 50 hours to work through Rogue Lords so while not impossible, it’s perhaps another one you’ll struggle to finish.

Lake offers something a bit different to all of the other games in this line-up. This 2021 relaxing story game sees Meredith return to her hometown to deliver mail, taking a break from her career in the city.

With a runtime of only six to seven hours, you can easily finish it off across a couple of evenings.

Finally, Death Squared is a 2017 co-op puzzler with a similar runtime of around six hours. You do, obviously, need a buddy though.

All of these games are likely due to depart around Tuesday September 13 so if there are any you want to try and get through, you better get started asap.
