Spider-Man 2 Mod Lets You Swing Through New York City In First Person

The trouble is, the third-person mode in those games has you watching Spidey from behind rather than letting you know how it feels to be behind the mask.
Be Spider-Man In First-Person
That was until someone created a mod for Spider-Man 2. Created by Pcniado and available now on Nexus Mods, the First Person Camera mod for the Spider-Man sequel changes nothing about the game itself; it just lets you see it through the eyes of Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
That is both a blessing and a curse. Beating up thugs and firing webs from your wrists and it feeling a little more like you’re the one doing it ups the immersion significantly. It’s the swinging around New York City that has me feeling the need to tap out and switch back to the game’s standard third-person mode.
The swinging might well be the best part for some people. However, if that sort of thing makes you feel a little queasy, then falling rapidly between two skyscrapers and then watching the floor whizz away from you as the world around you spins on your way back up is going to be tough to stomach. At the very least it’s going to take some getting used to, but well worth it if you want to re-experience Spider-Man 2 in a whole new way.
The Spider-Man Games Have Been Given A New Lease On Life On Steam
Clearly a lot of you do want to do that, especially on PC, which is the only platform on which this mod can be applied. The release, and subsequent success, of Brand New Day has people flocking back to the Spider-Man games on PC. Both Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man 2 were among Steam’s top ten bestselling games in the days that followed Brand New Day’s theatrical release.
Two weeks later, Spider-Man 2 is still in the top 30.
A continued focus on the Spidey games on Steam might have PlayStation reconsidering its PC pipeline. Right now, the plan is to stop releasing single-player games published by PlayStation on anything other than PS5. That might be the right call for some games, but maybe not so much for others. Wolverine presumably won’t ever launch on PC, and the success of the Spider-Man games on Steam suggests the upcoming Marvel game skipping the platform might lose PlayStation a lot of potential revenue.
