Ball x Pit just revealed a whole new expansion: Risen Ballbylon
You know, for like a solid month after Ball x Pit released, it had several members of PC Gamer's staff in a white-knuckle chokehold. Editors, staff writers, possibly an accountant or two—the game's blend of Breakout and roguelike swept through these offices like a delightful plague, leaving none of us unchanged.
Time to be changed again, then. At the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, we just saw Ball x Pit: Risen Ballbylon, an entirely new expansion for the game with new characters, gameplay, buildings, passives and, brace yourself, new balls.

Release date: November 12, 2026
Remember that period of 2025 where Ball x Pit had your life in a vice-like grip? Get ready for it to happen again. It's getting a new expansion with 20 new ball evolutions, eight new hunters, four new biomes, 20 new buildings, 46 new passives, and at least one guy who I'm reasonably certain is called "Potager". Coming November 12, wishlist it on Steam.
It's coming on November 12, and friends, it sure is a lot. Sure, there are all the lovely loops you've come to know in the base game, but now they are garnished with vast quantities of additional stuff: 20 new ball evolutions, eight new hunters, four new biomes, 20 new buildings, 46 new passives.

I think that, if you felt like you had mastered all that Ball x Pit had to offer in its original form, you've now got something like a master's level exam to familiarise yourself with the materials for.
We got a little glimpse of some of those new hunters, by the by. Fancy playing a sentinel? How about a word I'm 90% sure is potager? Or you can go for my immediate favourite, the scandalmonger, whose whole thing is that he constantly rotates balls about him like some kind of nightmarish Las Vegas evening show. I'm going to be that guy, I think.
It's a hell of a lot of new stuff for a game that already had a hell of a lot of stuff as it was, and I can already feel its approach. I feel it in the soles of my feet, like the distant vibrations of an approaching army. Come November 12, I fear these offices may never be the same again. Wishlist it on Steam.
