How long is Control Resonant? Time to beat explained

Control wasn't too long a game, but how long is Control Resonant?

The sequel takes place on a much larger map, so across the game's many missions, you would expect that to translate to a longer game.

But does it? Here's what you need to know about how long it takes to complete Control Resonant.

How long is Control Resonant? Time to beat explained

Control Resonant will take roughly 25-30 hours to complete for an average playthrough.

Based on my own time with the game for our review, this assumes that in addition to completing all the Main Story missions, you take some time to explore the world and complete some side content.

Completing at least some side content is pretty much a necessity to make sure you're strong enough to take on the main campaign, so even if you rushed through, you're probably still looking at around 23-25 hours to complete the game.

But on the flip side, if you want 100% completion of the game, then you're looking at closer to 35-40 hours.

This would require you to complete every Side Story, all the Sketchbooks, completing a number of FBC Tasks and more.

For comparison, Resonant is quite a bit longer than all of Remedy's previous games.

The first Control takes only around 12 hours to complete, which is similar to both Alan Wake and Quantum Break.

The closest Remedy has come to a game of this length before is the roughly 20 hour Alan Wake 2.

And on top of all that, we're still keeping our fingers crossed that some future Control Resonant DLC will give us the chance to step back into Dylan's shoes, so there's still scope for things to get even longer!
