Special Vaporeon, Jumbo Wartortle, And Every Other Pokemon Funko Pop Shown Off At SDCC
Funko Pops have quietly become a pretty effective way to catch ‘em all, with more and more Pokemon added to Funko’s collection all the time. No fewer than nine more were revealed during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, with a healthy mix of Pokemon Pop debuts and special releases for Pokemon that have received the Funko treatment before.
Jumbo Wartortle And Special Vaporeon
Leading the charge for Pokemon’s Pop reveals at SDCC last weekend was Jumbo Wartortle. We already knew that Wartortle is set to make its Pop debut soon. Now we know that it will be getting a ten-inch Jumbo version to match, or for Wartortle fans to wait for if they’d prefer the bigger version.
The Jumbo Wartortle is identical to the regular-sized version in every way other than size.
The other non-standard Pop revealed at SDCC belongs to Vaporeon. Rather than having the Pokemon stand there, which is the go-to for most Pokemon Pops, Vaporeon’s new figure has the Water-type Eeveelution jumping up out of the water, making it even more of a display piece than your typical Pop.
Morpeko, Blastoise, And More Make Their Funko Pop Debuts
The other seven Pokemon Pops shown off during SDCC are all Funko debuts, some more surprising than others. Morpeko’s is the most interesting of the bunch, as both forms of the Galarian Pokemon will be getting a figure. Full Belly and Hangry Morpeko Pops were revealed, and both will presumably be released at the same time. I’m just hoping they come as a two-pack.
The most shocking Pokemon Funko Pop info shared during SDCC was the reveal that Blastoise has never had one before. Funko has gone all out for the fully evolved Squirtle’s debut, giving Blastoise the Premium Pop treatment - the best-looking figure of the bunch in my opinion, and a long overdue debut for Blastoise.
Almost as surprising was the reveal that Chikorita hasn’t had a Pokemon Pop until now. Making its debut as the Grass-type Pokemon partner in Gold & Silver, Chikorita will be among the new Pokemon pops released. Joining it will be Nidoqueen and Nidoking, who are also confirmed to be making their Funko debuts imminently. Like Morpeko, I’m hopeful the Gen 1 royalty will be available to buy together bundled together in a two-pack. Rounding out the SDCC reveals is Armarogue, which also makes its Funko debut.
Exact release dates for the seven figures revealed weren’t shared, but the fact we were officially shown them means they’ll be here sooner rather than later. Almost certainly before the end of 2026. An exciting few months for Pop-collecting Pokemon fans, as Pokemon customization options inspired by trainers, along with Pokemon Bitty Pop companions, were confirmed to be coming to Pop Yourself.
