Sci-fi road trip game Caravan SandWitch is free on the Epic Games Store

It's giveaway time on the Epic Games Store, and that means PC gamers have seven days to grab a brand-new offer to add to their library. Last week's Beacon Pines and We Were Here Together freebies are not available anymore, and to take their place, Caravan SandWitch has landed as the latest giveaway.

Developed by Studio Plane Toast, Caravan SandWitch lands as a combat-free open-world adventure that follows a young woman as she returns to her post-apocalyptic home planet of Cigalo to search for her missing sister.

Having simple gameplay that doesn't rely on enemies, deaths, or timers is touted as a major aspect of the title by the developer. Instead of high-stakes action, players will be spending their time driving a customizable van across a sci-fi landscape, scavenging for scrap, and solving environmental puzzles to unlock new areas. There are also human survivors, indigenous species, and leftover robots to discover on the way.

"From a green planet to a desertic one due to human activities and sur-exploitation; discover on Cigalo the impact of humans and its population through your road trip," adds the studio about the setting. "Meet the Reinetos, an old aboriginal species, the Robots left behind after the planet exploitation, the humans who stayed after everyone left for another planet, and the mysterious SandWitch. All of them live peacefully in Cigalo and help each other in this unwelcome environment."

The brand-new Caravan SandWitch giveaway is available for you to grab until August 20 on the Epic Games Store, giving you seven days to claim the latest offer. Once this closes out, new games will take their place on the same day as fresh freebies.
