Rockstar Games is giving all GTA Online players $1 million completely for free as part of a summer event, but you’ve only got a short amount of time left to claim it.

With the astronomical hype for Grand Theft Auto 6 only growing more each day as we get closer to the Extended Look at the end of the month, I can bet that a whole bunch of you are killing time in Los Santos. GTA Online might be starting to show its age after more than a decade, but it’s certainly still got plenty of life.

Rockstar clearly knows that too, as it continues to update the game with new events, missions, and much more, even with GTA 6 on the horizon. In fact, it’s just given both lapsed and active GTA Online players a good reason to log in, as there’s a massive amount of free money waiting for you if you do it soon.

GTA Online Is Giving Everyone $1 Million If You Log In This Week

The Cash Isn’t Instant, But It Is Free!

If you’ve been keeping an eye on Rockstar’s Newswire over the past few weeks (which is most of us, let’s be real), then you might remember a post from July 30 that announced an End of Summer giveaway for all players. That giveaway includes a free $1 million bonus to all players simply for logging in before August 12.

That being said, the cash won’t be granted instantly, as Rockstar notes that it will be delivered within 72 hours.

The GTA Online bonus event technically started yesterday, but considering the whole world had their eyes on the GTA 6 gameplay trailer news, Rockstar decided to remind us all with a Twitter post. Bear in mind that you’ve only got until next Wednesday to log in and be eligible for the bonus, so you might want to get on it fast.

If you’ve not played GTA Online in a while, you might be wondering how far $1 million will actually get you. I’d love to say that it’s plenty of mileage, but it’ll really only get you a few outfits, potentially a car, and some extra cash for weapons or to go towards a heist. With the cheapest mansion in the game costing $8 million, it’s a bit of a drop in the bucket.

Even with that being the case, it is literally $1 million for absolutely nothing but a tiny bit of your time booting the game back up, so don’t look a gift horse in the mouth too much. And hey, whatever brings us even a little bit closer to August 27, right?
