Marvel Tokon Busted PC Release Results In Cancelled Tournament Matches
Marvel Tokon's PC Port Is So Rough That A Tournament Has Been Forced To Play On PS5 Only
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ PC port is still so broken that it’s caused a tournament to cancel its PC bracket and play on PS5 only to “ensure a positive and smoother experience”.
A new licensed tag fighter from Arc System Works should be one of gaming’s greatest joys and, for the most part, Marvel Tokon is living up to those expectations. That is, of course, unless you’re playing the game on PC, which is far and away the worst way to experience it right now since it’s so broken and unfinished.
Marvel Tokon’s issues on PC were made clear during the game’s open beta, but many hoped that this would change in time for launch. PlayStation and Arc Sys certainly seemed to think so, as they promised that fixes had been made, but, as the Steam reviews prove, they weren’t enough. Things are so bad that a tournament has had to cancel some of its Tokon plans.

Contestants Can Only Play On PS5 For Now
Ever since Marvel Tokon launched a few days ago, its clearly unfinished PC port has been getting slammed by players left, right, and centre, with many refunding it until its many problems are solved. I’m sure that’s coming at some point in the future, but it’s not soon enough for Tampa Never Sleeps, a noteworthy grassroots tournament series.
Earlier this week, Tampa Never Sleeps announced that today marks the start of its Marvel Tokon weeklies, with registrations opening up for contestants. That announcement was made on August 6, but was quickly amended just one day later when it was made very clear that Marvel Tokon wasn’t optimal on PC.
In response to the broken port, Tampa Never Sleeps shared an update confirming that the tournament was now going to only be playable on PS5 to “ensure players have a positive and smoother experience”. The event organisers apologised for any inconvenience caused by the decision, but all of the anger is being directed at PlayStation.
While the decision is currently only affecting today’s weekly, it’s likely that it will continue to be the case until the PC version of the game sees more improvements. It’s not clear how long that’s going to take, so if you’re planning on competing, you might want to stick with the PS5 release.
