Genshin Impact: Odette Character Builds (Weapons, Artifacts, Team Comps, Stats)

Giving Odette the proper character build in Genshin Impact can significantly change your performance as you explore Teyvat, powering through enemy lines and farming resources to grow ever stronger. Odette is a new 5-star Cryo character, and the very first one to be released alongside the arrival of Snezhnaya. She is one of the main aspects of the content planned for Genshin Impact 7.0, though she will be available in reruns in future patches, too.

The new character Odette in Genshin Impact is best used as a sub-DPS in teams focused around the Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl reactions, variants of Superconduct and Swirl, respectively. Her mere presence in the team transforms both reactions into their Stellar variants, which deal increased damage and trigger extra effects. Odette is a pretty powerful unit, though to unlock all of her potential, you’ll need to optimize her build and put her in a strong team to take advantage of her abilities on the field.

Best Weapons For Odette (Best Swords)

Genshin Impact's Odette attacks three Fatui in an arena surrounded by flames.

The first step in achieving this is to give Odette a good weapon to fight with. Odette is a sword user, so you’ll need to look at good sword options that increase her damage output, leaning into her role as an ATK-based sub-DPS character. The BiS (best-in-slot) weapon for Odette is Whitelake Frostfeather, her signature 5-star sword. This weapon boosts the user’s CRIT Rate via its bonus effect. Additionally, when the user hits an enemy with their Skill, they gain a buff that increases their ATK.

The table below lists build suggestions for Odette in Genshin Impact:

Odette's Best Build In Genshin Impact

Weapon

  • Whitelake Frostfeather (Best 5-Star)
  • Freedom-Sworn (5-Star Alternative)
  • Azurelight (5-Star Alternative)
  • Aquila Favonia (5-Star Alternative)
  • Finale of the Deep (Best 4-Star & F2P)

Artifact

  1. Heart of the Furnace (4 pieces)
  2. Disenchantment in Deep Shadows (4 pieces - only for Stellar-Conduct teams)

Stat Priority

  1. CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate
  2. ATK
  3. Elemental Mastery
  4. Energy Recharge

Skill Priority

  1. Elemental Skill
  2. Elemental Burst
  3. Normal Attack

This effect can be triggered once every 0.1s, up to three stacks. At three stacks, the CRIT DMG of Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG caused by the user is boosted, and these reaction triggers will restore Elemental Energy. This is perfect for Odette, because her Skill creates a Dance Double, who will periodically strike enemies. As such, she can build up stacks for improved damage quite easily with Whitelake Frostfeather.

If you are unable to obtain her signature weapon, there are a few alternatives. Other 5-star weapon options for Odette are Freedom-Sworn, Azurelight, and Aquila Favonia. If the problem is the weapon’s rarity, as 5-stars don’t come along too easily, you could look at Finale of the Deep, a 4-star craftable weapon from Genshin Impact 4.0.

Best Artifacts & Stats For Odette

Genshin Impact's Odette strikes a pose with her Dance Double.

Apart from the weapon choice, another thing to look at for Odette’s build is her Artifact set. In Version 7.0, the best Artifact set for this Snezhnaya character in Genshin Impact is Heart of the Furnace. Its two-piece bonus improves ATK by 18%. With four pieces, the user gets a 12% ATK increase for 12 seconds when they trigger a Stellar Glimmer reaction or deal Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG. Additionally, this bonus buffs Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG dealt by nearby party members by 50%, and the effects can be triggered even if the user isn’t on the field.

This is perfect for Odette, since her Dance Double will be consistently helping trigger Stellar Glimmer reactions and dealing Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG. When farming these Artifacts for Odette, you’ll want to prioritize CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate, as well as ATK and Elemental Mastery. All of these contribute to Odette’s performance as a sub-DPS. If you don’t have the complete Heart of the Furnace set just yet, you can use Disenchantment in Deep Shadows, though this will only work if she’s in a Stellar-Conduct team, exclusively.

Best Team Comps For Odette

Genshin Impact's Sandrone floats in Fontaine.

Effectively, when running Odette, you can insert her into two types of team comps: those centered around Stellar-Conduct, or those that use Stellar-Swirl. For the Stellar-Conduct team, you’ll want to pick a powerful main Cryo DPS to use, like Sandrone or Wriothesley, while using supporting off-field Electro characters to fuel the reactions, like Yae Miko or Raiden Shogun. You can also use the new Alyosha character in Genshin Impact as an Electro support and healer – though his healing may conflict directly with Wriothesley’s HP-loss mechanics.

The table below lists a few team comp recommendations for Odette:

Odette's Best Team Comps In Genshin Impact

Stellar-Conduct Team

  • Odette (Cryo Sub-DPS)
  • Sandrone (Cryo DPS) - Wriothesley (Cryo DPS)
  • Yae Miko (Electro Sub-DPS)
  • Alyosha (Electro Support & Healer)

Stellar-Swirl Team

  • Odette (Cryo Sub-DPS)
  • Mizuki (Anemo Main DPS)
  • Sucrose (Anemo Support)
  • Qiqi (Cryo Sustain) - Escoffier (Cryo Sustain)

If you’re inclined to use Stellar-Swirl, then having Mizuki or Varka as your main Anemo DPS is the best choice. In this team, you’ll also want Sucrose as a support and a sustain character, like Qiqi or Escoffier, to keep you alive while also contributing to Cryo application.

Skill (Talent) Priority For Odette

Genshin Impact's Odette gets ready to attack with her Dance Double.

When leveling up Odette, you may be forced to make some tough choices, as resources can be time-consuming to collect. The first and most important aspect of her kit to level up is her Elemental Skill. This is her bread and butter, and what summons her Dance Double more consistently. The second priority is her Elemental Burst, which is a DPS nuke and a secondary way of summoning her Dance Double. The third priority is her Normal Attack, though this can be entirely skipped since Odette shouldn’t be on the field attacking anyway.

Overall, Odette has a pretty traditional and straightforward build. You may have a bit of trouble farming Artifacts and getting the proper stats, as you’ll need to focus on a fine distribution of CRIT, ATK, and a bit of Elemental Mastery, but overall, there are many great ways to run the new Cryo character from Genshin Impact’s Snezhnaya region.
