Neagley’s New Case & Alan Ritchson’s Genre-Changing Reacher Return Revealed In Prime Video Spinoff Trailer
Neagley just got a lot more action-packed.
A new trailer for the upcoming Reacher spinoff has been released, revealing more about the core protagonist's new case and Alan Ritchson's genre-changing return to the franchise. The upcoming Neagley spinoff follows its title character as she investigates the death of someone close to her, putting Reacher's training to the test as she embarks upon a mission of her own. The new show will premiere with all eight episodes on September 16, 2026, the same day that Reacher season 4 comes to a close.
Now, Prime Video has released a new trailer for Neagley, revealing even more details about her spinoff and the events that are set to unfold. The trailer starts by teasing Ritchson's return as Reacher, albeit in a smaller, supporting capacity in contrast to Neagley, who takes the reins on this mission. It also reveals more details about her investigation: Her friend died walking toward an oncoming train, ruled an accident by law enforcement. But, upon learning more, she soon uncovers a dangerous cult that may have been behind their death.

As the trailer unfolds, Neagley stumbles across a cult-like organization that may have been involved in her friend's death. She recruits someone else close to her friend in her investigation. The pair work closely with one another as they slowly unravel the truth, all tied to a group that may have had a role to play in what happened. It teases major physical and gun-focused action as Neagley confronts various assailants, from the average criminal to corrupt police officers. Though small-scale, the investigation teases some big consequences.
The spinoff show will act as a follow-up to Reacher season 4, the main series passing the baton the same night the ongoing batch of episodes ends. The trailer signals a very similar tone to the original series, but with just enough differences to its approach to make it stand out. The eight-episode show will see Neagley working with a whole host of newcomers, too, including Greyson Holt's Detective Hudson Riley and Jasper Jones as Keno, the mutual friend who becomes embroiled in the larger conspiracy that unfolds.
It's only the beginning for Neagley's increased presence in the Jack Reacher franchise, too. A Neagley book series penned by Lee Child and Yasmin Angoe is currently in development, with the first book, Zero Margin, set for release on March 23, 2027. It's also possible she'll make a return in Reacher season 5, which is currently filming, though there's no news on when to expect her next appearance in the main show. She's beginning to branch out on her own in various ways, with the TV series being a first step in an independent direction.
With the series arriving in just one month, it won't be long until the bigger consequences of her investigation are revealed. Since Neagley is set squarely within the same world as Reacher, the show will have plenty of similarities, yet also a number of stark differences that will clearly make it a fresh, unique installment in the larger franchise.
