Kingdom Hearts Officially Advertised At D23 Ahead Of Big News

Kingdom Hearts Is Now Being Advertised Outside D23, Which Is A Very Good Sign For KH4

Sora waking up in the reveal trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4.

As if everything we’ve heard so far didn’t make it clear that Kingdom Hearts at D23 is a big deal, it’s now being actively advertised outside of the event space.

It feels incredibly weird to actually have hope for Kingdom Hearts news after such a lengthy silence on the whole series, but that’s exactly what’s happening right now. Following Kingdom Hearts 4’s re-reveal in June, Disney is hosting a special “Deep Dive” panel for the franchise at this year’s D23.

The last time Kingdom Hearts appeared at D23 was all the way back in 2015, and we got some pretty big announcements from it. That already sets the pace for this year’s panel and raises expectations, which are about to get even worse now that Disney is actually advertising the series a week in advance.

It’s Even Using The Same Render Of Sora From A Decade Ago

Over the past few weeks, Kingdom Hearts fans have unanimously decided that the D23 panel is going to have some kind of big reveal. That was already a fair assumption from the series even being at the event, but some exclusive merchandise and leaked appearances from important figures behind the franchise have sent everyone into overdrive.

As if all of that wasn’t enough, there’s a new twist in the story. Yesterday, Disney started putting up banners outside the Anaheim Convention Center and, as pointed out by Twitter user ScottGustin, that includes a banner featuring Kingdom Hearts 3 Sora and Mickey next to the series’ logo.

While the designs featured on the banner aren’t from Kingdom Hearts 4, it’s still very interesting to see Disney try and push the series’ appearance at the event. Knowing how long fans have waited for news on the next game in the series, it surely wouldn’t go to all of this trouble for just a retrospective panel or Fortnite collab, right?

It’s also worth noting that this is exactly like what happened at D23 2015, which gave us the reveal of the Big Hero 6 world. That was advertised at D23 as well and is the series’ last appearance at the event until now, so it’s looking more and more likely that there’s something actually big happening next week.
