PC gamers get free survival horror game to keep for Halloween
Epic Games’ latest weekly free game giveaway is now live, giving users a limited time to claim a spooky game in time for Halloween.
As is typical for the Epic Games Store every Thursday, a new free game has become available which users can redeem and add to their account.
This week’s entry is currently available to pick up now, and will be available until November 5, 2026.
This week’s Epic Games Store freebie is Sorry We’re Closed, a story-driven horror game that was originally released in 2024. Developed by à la mode games and published by Akupara Games, the game was positively received when it came out.
How to claim Epic Games Store free games
To claim a free game on the Epic Games Store, you first need to have an Epic Games account, which is free to sign up for.
Once you’re signed in, you can either redeem the game on the website or on the desktop client. Open up the store on the website or client, and scroll down to where the page reads “Free Games”. It’ll be right underneath the section devoted to deals.
Click on Sorry We’re Closed, and you’ll be taken to the game’s store page. Scan the right-hand side of the page and you’ll see a large button which says “Get”. Click here, and follow the instructions to be able to redeem the game on your account.
Once you’ve done this, Sorry We’re Closed will be added to your Epic Games account. You’ll be able to install and play it at any time, even after the deal has expired.

What is Sorry We’re Closed about?
Sorry We’re Closed is described as “a fusion of nostalgic survival horror with a new perspective on combat”.
The survival horror game mixes fixed-camera angles with arcade-style first person shooting, all in a series of atmospheric spooky environments. Playing as Michelle, you need to collect items and manage resources to help her survive.
In true retro fashion, the game features optional tank controls for those who want a more classical experience, and the game uses low-polygon models and and simple textures to add to that late ‘90s, early ‘00s aesthetic.
The blurb on Sorry We’re Closed reads: “Follow the final days of Michelle as she battles to break the curse placed on her by a powerful archdemon looking for love. Help (or hinder!) the lives of the curious residents in Michelle’s bustling London borough as she pursues freedom from her own untimely demise.
“Michelle’s time is split between the perilous demon world and mingling with the locals on her residential street. Everyone is battling their own inner demons and through Michelle you can help guide them. Multiple endings are available through RPG-style dialogue interactions with the extravagant cast.”
If you’d like to check it out on PC, you can claim it on the Epic Games Store now and add it to your account. The free offer is available until November 5, 2026.
