GTA 6's First Voice Actor Has Been Confirmed

The first official confirmation of a voice actor starring in Grand Theft Auto 6 has been made, with Stephen Root revealing they are involved in the upcoming game.

Rockstar Games‘ GTA 6 is arguably the most anticipated game of all time, and while there has been a slew of new information recently following the extended look, there’s still a lot yet to be revealed.

That includes the actors providing the likenesses for both main characters, Jason and Lucia, and while they’re still not revealed, one role in the title has been confirmed.

GTA 6 Voice Actor revealed

Speaking to APNews at the BAFTA Tea Party, Root, who’s past roles include Wyck in Widow’s Bay and Bubbles in Finding Nemo, confirmed his role in GTA 6.

“Yeah, you’re going to see me in there. Since the first rollout about a year ago, they had my character in there, and there are too many people who knew me from King of the Hill and my voice, so I think that secret was kind of divulged then,” he said.

Asked what his experience was like, Root added: “I’m so happy to be involved in it, it’s an amazing thing to look at.”

While he didn’t state the character that he is playing, he did reference the fan speculation of his casting, which points to Brian Heder, a retired smuggler who employs Jason.

Heder was seen in the recent GTA 6 extended look, where he met with Jason and Lucia at a rooftop party, sharing a cigar with the former.

As the build-up to GTA 6 continues, more roles and stars will be revealed, and it hopefully won’t be too long until we find out who is providing the voices for Jason and Lucia.
