God Of War Star Accidentally Destroyed An Infamous Last Of Us Prop
God Of War Laufey Star Broke The Golf Club That Killed Joel On Her First Day
God of War Laufey star Deborah Ann Woll has been having a pretty fun time touring conventions, telling stories about her time during development, while also sticking it to the chuds upset about a woman being the main character of a God of War game. However, one of her most interesting stories came during San Diego Comic Con earlier this month.
Santa Monica shared the story via its social media accounts earlier today, in which Woll recounts her first day on the set of God of War Laufey. In this story, Woll shares her experience of accidentally breaking a pretty massive piece of PlayStation and The Last of Us history, that being the prop that was used as the golf club that killed Joel.

"On my very first day on set for God of War Laufey, we were doing a scene, and they handed me a prop, and unbeknownst to me, this was a very famous prop that they had used on The Last of Us," says Woll. She goes on to joke that it was a piece of "sporting equipment", while the woman to her left — God of War veteran Ariel Lawrence — basically confirmed it was the golf club.
"They gave it to me, and I was supposed to use it like an axe, and I broke it," she continues, a big grin plastered across her face. We then see actual footage of this going down, shared for the first time by Santa Monica, and the phrase "broke it" is definitely an understatement.
In the video, you can see Woll firmly slam the ground with the prop, and it just snaps clean in half, much to the shock and horror of Woll herself. Thankfully, it seems like the rest of the team at Santa Monica were either pleased or impressed by the act, so all is good there and there were, presumably, no tears shed. And, at least this way, The Last of Us fans can sleep soundly knowing the weapon that took out their beloved Joel has been defeated.
