Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight: Showdown in Shadesmar Officially Arrives In 2027
Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere is always expanding, and thanks to the world of Roshar and The Stormlight Archive, fans will soon be able to dive even deeper into one of the author's most mysterious dimensions: Shadesmar. The Cognitive Realm has been featured in several Stormlight Archive books at this point, but it'll take front and center in the upcoming Showdown in Shadesmar adventure that's part of the latest Cosmere RPG releases.
Brotherwise Games, the makers of the official Cosmere RPG, announced Showdown in Shadesmar a while back during the game's Kickstarter campaign. The original adventure will send players into the Cognitive Realm, but not a whole lot more is known about it at this point. Thanks to the company's GenCon press briefing, however, we've gotten some solid details on when fans can expect to see Showdown in Shadesmar release.
We know the Tidebreakers supplement will be arriving in October 2027, and thanks to the Cosmere RPG's presence at GenCon this year, we've also gotten a better look at when Showdown in Shadesmar will release. Showdown in Shadesmar was a digital stretch goal unlocked during TTRPG's Kickstarter Campaign, and Kickstarter backers will receive Showdown in Shadesmar for free in 2027, ahead of Tidebreakers.
In other words, it'll release next year and sometime before October 2027. No further information has been provided yet, but expect to see a more specific release date as we get closer to next year. At the very least, it means Kickstarter backers will be getting a couple of adventures or the Cosmere RPG next year. So, if you're already involved with the TTRPG, it's nice knowing the content will keep on coming.
Showdown in Shadesmar is the fourth (and final) digital supplement, which is available to all pledge tiers of Kickstarter backers. It's an all-new and original adventure set in the Cognitive Realm of Shadesmar that's meant for characters of 7th level. Additionally, both Stormlight and Mistborn characters can take part in the adventure, which will span around 16 pages, so whether you've been playing on Roshar or Scadrial, you can still enjoy this supplement.
In the meantime, the Cosmere RPG rulebooks and supplements, which include Stormlight's world of Roshar and Mistborn's world of Scadrial, are available to purchase and play now. Considering how much content has already been released, there should be plenty to keep you busy until Showdown in Shadesmar comes out next year.
