Genshin Impact: Where To Find Flockingweed (Farming Locations)

A Flockingweed from Genshin Impact is superimposed over the image of a castle in Snezhnaya.

In order to fully Ascend certain characters in Genshin Impact, you’ll need to farm Flockingweed, one of the new Local Specialties introduced with the region of Snezhnaya in Version 7.0. The arrival of the Nation of Cryo to the playable content in the action RPG opens up tons of new gameplay possibilities, many of which will come with the new Snezhnaya characters in Genshin Impact. In Version 7.0, two new characters have been introduced.

As part of leveling these characters up, you’ll need to farm certain materials to get them to their full base potential. To properly build Alyosha in Genshin Impact and have him operate as a reliable Electro support and healer for Stellar-Charged team comps, you’ll first need to stock up on Flockingweed. As is the case with Local Specialties, they are scattered, limited, and only respawn after 48 hours in real life, so farming them can be a bit challenging if you don’t know precisely where to look and what routes to follow.

Flockingweed locations are highlighted on the Genshin Impact map.

As of Version 7.0, you can find 74 Flockingweed nodes in Snezhnaya, and they are mostly concentrated around the central portion of the map. To start farming Flockingweed, I recommend moving from the south to the north. Start by collecting nine nodes on the outside of Tidesong Cavern, and then move inside to collect the four Flockingweed spawns – this area will overlap with some Fairyfrost Flowers in Genshin Impact. After doing this, head to the road just west of the House of Hesperides, where you’ll find two clusters containing more Flockingweed.

Once those have been farmed, move to the west, and you’ll find a few clusters, some of which are down inside an icy chasm, while the others are on the roads that encircle it. From there, you’ll want to proceed northwest, following the road north, gathering nodes of Flockingweed that you find along the way, up to the canyon that overlooks the chasm between this area and the Central Station. Lastly, make your way south via the western road, farming the final nodes of Flockingweed.

Farming Flockingweed is mostly straightforward and easy, though you’ll want to collect every node on every run you go on, since characters usually require 168 copies. To optimize your gains, I recommend using Alyosha, since he makes Local Specialties appear on your minimap, as well as opening the Interactive Map on HoYoLAB, which will highlight the exact spawn position of each Flockingweed node on the map.

While Alyosha is the only character that currently uses Flockingweed in their Ascension process, this item may be used by other characters that are released as Snezhnaya continues to grow and expand with new updates. Even after you’re done with Ascending Alyosha, if you’re passing through the region, be sure to collect Flockingweed in Genshin Impact.
