Game That Shaped YouTube Might Get New Version This Year

A remake or a remaster?
The legend that revolutionized the gaming YouTube community might soon be back – Amnesia: The Dark Descent will get a "new version" by the end of the year, if Frictional Games' 2025 report is to be believed.
Redditor CarlZzZoneNnn was reading the studio's financial report from last year when they noticed an enticing promise: Frictional Games planned another The Dark Descent at the end of 2026.
It's not clear what exactly this "new version" might be, but I expect a remaster or a remake to start the wave of popularity once again.
The Dark Descent is a survival horror game that boosted countless YouTubers, including PewDiePie. Its tense atmosphere and jump scares were fruitful ground for let's players of the 2010s, infamously jump-starting a trend for fitting as many screaming feats as possible. Moreover, the game had plenty of modding tools that inspired fans to make their own experiences, sometimes as good as the original.
The first Amnesia was released in 2010, followed by A Machine for Pigs, Rebirth, and 2023's The Bunker.
While Frictional Games' plans might have changed since the report, I'm sure the sales would be crazy.
