Want to Play with the Latest Tech But Don’t Have the Specs to Match? Use NVIDIA GeForce NOW to Play with PC-Only Technology

PC gaming has always been on the cutting edge of gaming technology. Ray-tracing, upscaling, multi-frame generation – as the wheel of innovation turns and new tech becomes available, PC is the place to be if you want to be the first to check them out. The most recent example of this comes with the launch of NBA 2K27. As the first-ever game to include NVIDIA’s newest DLSS 5 technology, it features a neural rendering model that delivers a whole new level of photorealistic graphics.

But new tech, like DLSS 5, is often limited to specific hardware due to the increasing graphical demands (as is the case with DLSS 5, which is exclusive to RTX 50-series GPUs and laptops). So what if you want to play games with the latest PC only features, but don’t have the rig to do it? That’s where NVIDIA GeForce NOW comes in.

With GeForce NOW, this is all available to you directly from the cloud. You can stream games already in your library, such as NBA 2K27, to a variety of devices including your PC, laptop, tablet, TV or smartphone and experience the exclusive RTX 50-series features like DLSS 5 without having to upgrade your setup.

Simply put, it's the next step in video game rendering. Announced earlier in March as “the company’s most significant breakthrough in computer graphics” since real-time ray tracing, NVIDIA explains how “DLSS 5 takes a game’s color and motion vectors for each frame as input, and uses an AI model to infuse the scene with photoreal lighting and materials that are anchored to source 3D content and consistent from frame to frame.”

When we booted up NBA 2K27 on GeForce NOW and turned on DLSS 5, the difference in image quality was clearly noticeable. The players on the court looked more realistic, closer to the real-life players they are modelled on. This was especially noticeable during close-ups of the players where you can see more realistic-looking skin and hair textures. The effect extends beyond the players on the court and reaches the crowd in the arena too, with increased details and shadows helping each individual fan stand out more. The result is an enhanced visual experience where both the players and crowd look closer to reality.

NBA 2K27 may be the first to launch with DLSS 5, but if you’re wanting to see how some of your other games look at max settings on GeForce NOW then you’re in luck because GeForce NOW syncs with a wide selection of game libraries including Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Battle.net, GOG and more. What’s more, new games such as 007: First Light, Control Resonant, Gears of War E-Day and the upcoming Phantom Blade Zero are playable on GeForce NOW from release day, so you can experience the latest graphically intensive games as soon as they are available.

And because you’re streaming the game from a powerful NVIDIA rig you can play your games with the best settings on hardware that would never be able to natively support that level of performance.
