Sony reveals Wolverine-themed digital PS5 and matching controllers
There will be a secondary color option available for both the controller and cover designs too, inspired by the adamantium bonded to Logan's skeleton.
Sony has announced a new PlayStation 5 console bundle for fans who may be big fans of Marvel. The latest reveal is all about promoting Insomniac Games' upcoming Wolverine game, with the new PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle and accessories landing alongside the game later this year.
The iconic yellow and black shades of Wolverine's classic suit are the base of the new hardware's color scheme. There is a brand-new DualSense Wireless Controller with the exact same black and yellow look (with the claw marks) coming out too.
To get the new design's look the way it wanted, Insomniac Games had worked with Scottish graphic artist Jock for coming up with the comics-inspired graphic tone of the console plates.
"I wanted to show Wolverine at his fiercest for Marvel’s Wolverine Limited Edition PS5 Console bundle and accessories," says Jock. "I still draw all my artwork traditionally, so the opportunity to marry cutting-edge hardware with the energy and looseness of hand-drawn ink is incredibly exciting. I’m stunned by how well the console and accessories captured the raw energy of the drawing, bringing Wolverine to life in a completely unique way."
If you already own a PlayStation 5 Slim console, Sony will also be offering the new limited edition look via exclusive Wolverine Battle Yellow console covers with the same design.
There will be a secondary color option available for both the controller and cover designs too. Inspired by the adamantium bonded to Logan’s skeleton, the Adamantium Limited Edition (seen above) is also an option when picking up an official console cover from Sony. The same goes for the Marvel’s Wolverine Adamantium Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller, which lands separately.

Pre-orders for the new hardware and peripherals will go live on August 19. They are all slated to launch on September 15, the same day that Marvel’s Wolverine lands on PlayStation 5.
