Tomb Raider: Catalyst Just Got A Promising Release Update
Despite The Delay, Tomb Raider: Catalyst's 2028 Release Date Isn't Too Far Away
Fans of Tomb Raider got several incredibly exciting announcements in the past year when it comes to official releases and promising fan projects, but that isn't to say the series hasn't had its fair share of downsides either. With the upcoming Tomb Raider games both getting significant delays past their initial promises, eager players have had to simply wait a little longer to get their hands on the next-generation experience.
While we're less than a year away from the release of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis next February, we finally got an official update on when we can expect to get our hands on Tomb Raider: Catalyst, which is arriving even sooner than was initially expected.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst Release Date Has Been Officially Narrowed Down
As noted by Polygon, Embracer Group, the IP owners of the Tomb Raider series, recently put out an earnings report earlier today that outlines some of the organization's financial expectations for the next two years and which upcoming projects will help the company reach them.
While the report mentions several other exciting projects from Metro 2039 to Kingdom Come Deliverance, Embracer has set its sights on a release of Tomb Raider: Catalyst for the fiscal year of either 2027 or 2028. While this still isn't an exact date just yet, the official report confirms that the upcoming Tomb Raider game is expected to release by March 2028 at the very latest, and possibly even sooner for April 2027.
Although it's still entirely possible that Tomb Raider: Catalyst could get another release date delay, pushing it further into 2028 or beyond, the series already seems to be progressing well if the ongoing development of Legacy of Atlantis is anything to go by. While we'll still have to wait and see whether the current dates for Tomb Raider: Catalyst hold up as we get closer to 2028, the report has one final surprise in store for fans.
Embracer Has Even More On The Way For Eager Gamers
In addition to Tomb Raider: Catalyst, Embracer reveals that a new Kingdom Come Deliverance game is also slated to release within the same 2027-2028 window, offering even more for players of the hit RPG to look forward to, in addition to the studios' ongiong work on the next Lord of the Rings Game.
Regardless of how many Embracer projects will actually interest you or not, the company seems to be backing several of the most anticipated releases of the next few years, with no shortage of long-awaited sequels for fans and new players alike to dig their teeth into, with the brand-new Tomb Raider: Catalyst being the cherry on top of it all.
