Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn: Legacy Arrives November 2026
Brandon Sanderson is arguably the most consistent fantasy author of the last few decades, creating sprawling worlds and individual series that have drawn in millions of fans the world over. Your own favorite almost certainly comes down to personal taste, but there are certain stories and series within the Cosmere universe that stand out.
The two big hitters are probably The Stormlight Archive and Mistborn, with the latter serving as the main entry point for many into Sanderson's wider universe. Now, it's also being remade in an entirely new medium, and it could be one of the most ambitious fantasy adaptations that we've seen to date.
Over on the Saga Concepts website, you can find the breakdown for The Mistborn RPG, a tabletop roleplaying game set in the world of Scadrial. In confirming the news of its existence to fans, the developer shared the following insight into what players can expect when they do get their hands on it:
"If you're a fan of Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere or tabletop RPGs, the upcoming Cosmere RPG: Mistborn series is one of the most anticipated tabletop roleplaying releases of 2026. With the Mistborn Handbook now in pre-production, fans of fantasy RPGs and the world of Scadrial finally have a complete system to explore, build characters, and run immersive campaigns."
Built for both beginners and experienced players, the game is designed to combine the deeper narrative elements of Sanderson's world with structured gameplay mechanics and systems that should be recognizable to those who play TTRPGs regularly. Set to launch in November, it comes with several major products that should make it a lot easier to play,
The big hitter is the aforementioned Mistborn Handbook, which serves as the core rulebook for players and game masters, with everything from character creation to core mechanics and unique settings. It also includes a World Guide which is designed to give you all the information about Scadrial, so your explorations all make sense.
Lastly, if you do decide to buy the game, you'll also get the Mistborn: Legacy Campaign Book, which is essentially a structured narrative that reduces the impetus on those running the game to create their own stories.
