On July 1, a new Metroid game for Nintendo Switch 2 appeared online, titled ‘Metroid Ravenous.’ On September 9, the new Metroid game was confirmed, and it’s launching on January 28, 2027 exclusively on Nintendo’s latest console.

A new 2D Metroid game has been rumored and theorized for the longest time, even since before Metroid Prime 4. Now, we’ve gotten our first trailer, thanks to the Nintendo Direct.
