Blender Tool For Boolean-Style Cuts With Clean Quad Topology

Boolean Master gets the job done in a single click.

Unik Studio has launched a new add-on that could make life much easier for some 3D Artists. Boolean Master does exactly what its name suggests: it lets you quickly punch holes and create boolean details. Using the mouse, you can place holes, slots, and pockets wherever you need them, the tool then rebuilds the surrounding surface with all-quad topology.

Boolean Master only performs a cut when it can produce clean topology, and if a cut is rejected, the status bar explains why, for example, if it is too close to a border, a sharp edge, or another hole. It also works alongside other modifiers. UVs outside the rebuilt area remain untouched, while UVs within the rebuilt section are not yet preserved. Support for booleans between two separate objects is planned for a future version.

The workflow is mostly hotkeys: press Shift+Q, move the cursor over the surface, and click to place the cut. The live preview automatically snaps to vertices, edge centers, and face centers. Use Ctrl + Wheel to adjust the size, then click a second time to create the cut. The regular mouse wheel continues to control viewport zoom.
