Feel like a kid again when toy car game Obstacle Overdrive launches October 2
Obstacle Overdrive launch date trailer - PC Gaming Show 2026 - YouTube
If you were fortunate enough to have toy cars when you were a kid—or rad enough to buy them for yourself as an adult—you probably had fun driving them over absolutely everything in your room. Mine could climb walls, scramble over book mountains, and drift around VHS-case race tracks. We'll soon be able to relive those memories without tipping pencils all over the table when Obstacle Overdrive launches October 2, 2026.
Developed and published by Arcane Ermine, Obstacle Overdrive lets you go off-road—because it's all in a '90s bedroom—and make miniature radio-controlled cars navigate wacky obstacle courses. In the trailer, we see trucks going over toy keyboards, shimmying around block boards, and trundling over mountains of soft plushy toys.
Wishlist Obstacle Overdrive on Steam
Release date: October 2, 2026
Relive childhood memories and navigate your radio controlled cars over obstacle courses built out of toys in Obstacle Overdrive. The game launches October 2 and you can wishlist it and download the demo on Steam.
It's important to note this isn't a racing game. There are no other people to compete with, it's just you and the track, so take your time and learn how to overcome each area. You can also use five different cars, all with their own feel, so try them all out and see which handles each course best.
You can even collect hats that the cars can wear, which is just adorable. You may have to go even further off the beaten track than normal to get at them, but it'll all be worth it when you see how sweet they look.
If you want to relive childhood, then you don't have to wait long, because Obstacle Overdrive launches October 2, just a couple of weeks away. You can wishlist it on Steam now. There's also a demo you can try out if you can't stand to wait.
