Misty’s Bloody Yellowjackets Season 4 Return Teased In New Christina Ricci Set Image

Christina Ricci smirking as Misty in Yellowjackets season 3

Misty's Yellowjackets season 4 ending gets a new tease.

Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the Showtime horror series tells a dual-timeline story of the teen survivors of a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness and the lasting trauma from the event decades later. After premiering in 2021, the show returned for season 3 in February 2025. Now, Yellowjackets season 4 is confirmed to bring the show to a close.

Adult Misty actor Christina Ricci has now taken to Instagram to commemorate her filming wrap on Yellowjackets season 4. Ricci wears large sunglasses in the photo and half of her face is covered in blood. In her caption she teases an "insane" final season. Check out the post below:

"Went out with a bang," Ricci writes in her caption. "What an amazing couple of years Misty has had. Final season is gonna to be insane."

Misty continues to be one of Yellowjackets' most surprising characters. Teen Misty, played by Samantha Hanratty, has shown an increasing appetite for chaos and manipulation, and adult Misty has killed at least two people. Ricci's post could suggest that Misty's penchant for violence may finally catch up with her in the final episodes.

The Yellowjackets season 3 ending features a number of revelations that are ripe for further exploration. This includes the reveal that Mari (Alexa Barajas) is the girl in the pit from the show's pilot episode, Shauna (Sophie Nélisse) is the Antler Queen, and Cassie (Sarah Desjardins) is the one who killed Lottie (Simone Kessell) by pushing her down the stairs.

How teen and adult Misty will factor into these hanging plot threads remains to be seen, but Ricci's filming wrap is a sign that the wait to find out is narrowing. Adult Shauna actor Melanie Lynskey shared her own post about the show last week, confirming that filming is "nearly at the finish line."

No premiere date for Yellowjackets season 4 has been set just yet, but if filming wraps in the next month or two, the series is likely looking at a return late this year or early next year. Seasons 1 and 3 both featured 10 episodes while season 2 featured only nine, and season 4 is expected to fall somewhere in this range.

Though originally pitched as a five-season arc, Lyle and Nickerson ultimately decided that the story will conclude in the upcoming season 4. While many questions remain about how the story wraps up, Ricci's post suggests audiences are in for some bloody surprises when Yellowjackets returns.
