My Life With The Walter Boys Season 3 Is Officially Netflix’s New #1 Series

My Life with the Walter Boys is having a major moment on Netflix.

The teen drama has become one of Netflix's most recognizable young-adult hits since its 2023 debut, building an audience around Jackie Howard's complicated new life in Silver Falls and her increasingly messy relationships with the Walter family. The series has particularly thrived on the romantic tension between Jackie, Cole, and Alex, giving viewers plenty of reasons to keep coming back as that love triangle has evolved across multiple seasons.

That momentum has now carried into season 3 in a big way. Following its August 6 premiere, My Life with the Walter Boys has climbed to No. 1 on Netflix's global streaming chart, making it the platform's most-watched title at the time of writing.

Season 3 picks up with Jackie and Cole finally giving their relationship a real chance. After spending much of the first two seasons caught between Cole and his brother Alex, Jackie enters the new season in a very different position, with Cole officially becoming her boyfriend. According to Netflix's Tudum, creator Melanie Halsall says the pair's relationship was something the creative team deliberately wanted to deliver after leaving viewers wanting more at the end of the hit show's sophomore season.

My Life With the Walter Boys Season 3 is Making Waves

The decision to put Jackie and Cole together immediately also changes the show's central question. Rather than continuing to ask whether they will ever admit their feelings, season 3 explores whether they can actually make a relationship work. But the new season doesn't simply abandon the complications that made the love triangle so compelling in the first place.

Cole is going through his own transition, too. The former football star has had to rebuild his identity after a career-ending knee injury, and season 3 finds him exploring a new future involving cars and racing. Noah LaLonde, who plays Cole in the series, described the latest installment as "the season of Jackie and Cole," with Cole continuing to grow as he figures out what his life can look like after losing the future he once expected.

That character development appears to be resonating with viewers. ScreenRant's own Felipe Rangel reviewed My Life with the Walter Boys season 3, explaining how the show takes a closer look at how the new episodes handle the long-awaited relationship and the changes surrounding the Walter family, giving fans another perspective on whether the latest installment successfully builds on the first two seasons.

The critical response is also worth watching as the season establishes itself. The newly released Rotten Tomatoes scores provide an early look at how critics and audiences are responding to the latest batch of episodes, with the reception adding another layer to what has otherwise been a strong launch for the Netflix series.

Season 3 has plenty of story left to explore. Jackie and Cole may finally be together, but their relationship is entering an entirely different phase. Their biggest challenge is no longer admitting that they love each other, but figuring out whether that love can survive the pressures of adulthood, changing ambitions, family complications, and the possibility that they may want very different things from their futures.

For now, Netflix's latest No. 1 ranking for My Life With the Walter Boys suggests viewers are more than willing to find out.
