Microsoft confirms major Xbox presence at Gamescom 2026
Microsoft is heading back to Gamescom in 2026, and the Xbox booth it is setting up is celebrating the company's 25 years in the gaming space. That means it will have a huge amount of space dedicated for fans to come in and check out upcoming games. This will include both first-party titles and games from other teams like 4A Games and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
Gamescom is set to run from August 26 through August 30, and the official Xbox camp will be present in Hall 7, booth A-0.61. There will be 140 gaming stations set up for fans who visit the booth, where 25 upcoming games will be playable.
"Be among the first to play and see games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Fable, Minecraft Dungeons II, Gears of War: E-Day, METRO 2039, STRANGER THAN HEAVEN, Alien: Isolation 2, and more," said the company today. "As XBOX commemorates 25 years of play, gamescom 2026 is our way to celebrate the players and communities who made those many years possible."
Other confirmed playable games for the event include Alien Deathstorm, Bad Magpie, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, Crowsworn, Genigods: Nezha, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, STAR WARS Zero Company, Terrible Lizards, Turok: Origins, and Valor Mortis.
Microsoft gaming teams will also have live broadcasts showcasing its Gamescom activities on August 26 and August 27, which will feature "interviews, special guests, gameplay reveals, new trailers, and more."
The Xbox booth will be fully accessible as well, featuring wheelchair access, Xbox Adaptive Controllers, adjustable-height desks and monitors, staff to help with adaptive setups, a "quiet room" experience for reduced sensory gaming, as well as interpreters for ASL, BSL, and DGS.
Don't forget that the Geoff Keighley-hosted Gamescom Opening Night Live event is also set to happen on August 25 with major reveals of its own. Microsoft could have announcements about upcoming Xbox projects at this showcase too.
