Fortnite's New Jonesy Figure Costs $350, But Don't Worry, It Includes A $9 Skin
Epic Games has struck a new and exciting partnership with Hot Toys that will see some of Fortnite's most iconic characters turned into action figures. That partnership has kicked off with the reveal of a Jonesy the First action figure, but the excitement some had about the new toys has quickly turned to disappointment after seeing the price tag.
Hot Toys' Jonesy The First Figure Costs $350
If you want to buy the first Hot Toys Fortnite action figure, it’s going to cost you $350. That’s a lot, no matter how you frame it, even if you’re familiar with the Hot Toys brand and are aware that its figures are of the highest quality and tend to cost quite a bit more than other collectibles.
There are several reasons why the Jonesy figure costs so much, and it’s not just the Hot Toys branding. Only 3,000 of these will be made, which means once they’re gone, they’re gone forever. You might think that at $350, that’ll take a while, but trust me, as shocked as you are by the price of this figure, pre-orders are going to sell out very quickly.
The whole package includes accessories themed after various iconic Fortnite items - lots of them. Jonesy can be equipped with a Rocket Launcher or the Tactical Shotgun, accurate replicas of the Orange Flopper and Flare Gun are included, there’s a tiny Victory Crown displayed on a little cushion, and, best of all, a Supply Llama to stand alongside the figure wherever you choose to display it.
Your pricey Hot Toys purchase will also give you something tangible to unlock in Fortnite itself, although that doesn’t appear to be something that’s going to push many to part with $350. It’s a Jonesy the First skin, but unless there’s something Hot Toys isn’t telling us, it’s the same skin that you can buy for 800 V-Bucks in the Fortnite store. That’s around $9 worth of in-game currency, so seemingly something that’s been thrown in to sweeten the deal rather than an exclusive to help justify that $350 price tag.
Not All Of The New Fortnite Figures Cost $350
If you don't fancy dropping $350 on a Fortnite action figure, no matter how limited it might be, then there's good news. Not only is Jonesy not coming to Hot Toys alone, but the other familiar faces from the battle royale game won't cost nearly as much. Aura, Cuddle Team Leader, and Jules figures have also been revealed. They're smaller - 1/9 scale instead of 1/6 - and far cheaper at just $60 each, presumably because they won't be limited to 3,000 pieces and don't have as many accessories.
Rounding out the first wave in the Hot Toys Fortnite collection is a life-size replica of the Victory Royale Crown ($175) and eight collectible Cosbi figures priced at roughly $18 each. I say roughly because, for now, the only place pre-orders are live is through Hot Toys' Japanese website. Everything will almost certainly get a worldwide release very soon, and prices may differ depending on where you are in the world.
