Russell Crowe’s New Military Sci-Fi Movie Revealed With First Plot Details

Russell Crowe has just joined the cast of a sci-fi action film alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
Deadline reports that Crowe will star opposite Chopra Jonas in Bluefly, which is being directed by Predators filmmaker Nimród Antal from a script by David Frigerio, William Eubank and Carlyle Eubank. Filming is expected to get underway on the Gold Coast of Australia in late 2026
While details about Crowe and Chopra Jonas' characters haven't been revealed, the movie itself takes place in the Congo and centers on a UN translator who is tasked with helping a black-ops mission retrieve an aircraft that crashed in a militia-held territory. The problem is that this aircraft isn't on the official logs, and the Special Operations team working on the recovery effort realizes that salvaging the military vehicle was never supposed to happen.
Lia Buman, Guy Davies, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, RuthAnne Frigerio, Katie Leary, Jason Kringstein, James Norbury, Scott Levenson, Michael Jefferson, David Frigerio, Deborah Glover, Arianna Fraser, Delphine Perrier and Vanessa Yao Guo are on the producing team of Bluefly, which Highland Film Group will be selling at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) market.
