Ubisoft teases its next Assassin's Creed 'Resynced' title after Blag Flag success

Assassin's Creed is quickly regaining its gravitas as the Ubisoft franchise continues to go from strength to strength with releases like Valhalla and Shadows.

But the biggest success story of its modern era is Black Flag Resynced, polishing the iconic title with a modern twist that restores life to the sunken ships.

Hitting record numbers (followed by sad, untimely layoffs that soured the taste of the salty seas), Black Flag Resynced was dubbed 'better than the original in almost every way'.

The remastered title became the highest-rated Assassin's Creed game in years, earning rave reviews.

In our 8/10 review, we claimed, "this is arguably the best game in the series, perhaps only topped by Assassin’s Creed II and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.

The developers at Ubisoft have clearly gone to great lengths to ensure that this remake deserves to exist, and it’s very clear after spending many hours with the game that it’s a love letter to the fans."

Now, Ubisoft looks to be lining up another 'Resynced' title to capitalise on the renewed interest in games gone by, as it has teased updates for one of its OGs.

Ubisoft continues to tease Assassin's Creed Resynced

Despite having another new franchise instalment in the works with the mysterious witchcraft-inspired Hexe, Ubisoft looks to be preparing for another Resynced title that promises to blow us away.

The first Assassin's Creed, released in 2007 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, introduced us to the series in spectacular fashion, birthing the famed protagonist Altaïr.

Now, the master assassin appears to be making a return to the big screens as Ubisoft is playing around with its official logos and assets on Steam.

The developers have made a few subtle hints in the last few weeks that 'Assassin's Creed Resynced' will be the next remake, and recent activity has only stoked that fire.

Previously, Ubisoft released updates to the game's official Steam page, forcing a 'resync' to the site. The features have been minor and unnecessary, unless that was a hidden meaning.

This time, as of September 19, Ubisoft resynced the Steam page again with a new logo for Assassin's Creed 1, bringing the aesthetic in line with the modern titles.

Ubisoft has openly said that there are 'multiple' Resynced games in development, starting that process back in 2024. Most fans assumed that this would start with the earlier games, which meant Black Flag was a big surprise to us, but given that the developers are only moving assets around on the OG title, it's quite apparent what their plans are.

As to when it could arrive, well, there's a space opening in 2027 as Hexe continues to limp towards a finish line...
