Meta Horizon+ members now have Xbox Game Pass

Earlier this year, Microsoft unveiled a new tier of Xbox Game Pass that is only available as a part of other subscriptions. Discord Nitro was the first to receive this tier as a part of its benefits. Now, that program is expanding to Meta's Horizon+ subscription, officially giving its VR-focused members access to Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition.

With the new perk, Horizon+ members can now access over 50 games from Xbox Game Pass to play on their PCs, Xbox consoles, mobile, or even Meta Quest headsets via streaming.

Some of the available games include Fallout 4, Overcooked 2, Grounded, DayZ, Deep Rock Galactic, Fallout 76, SnowRunner, and more.

"For years, Meta and XBOX have teamed up to make it easy to experience games anywhere — especially on a big screen," said the announcement today. "Choose from four different display sizes, including a theater-size screen of up to 26 feet. You can play in an XBOX-themed immersive space that cuts back on distractions so you can dial in, or place the virtual screen right in your room."

The Starter Edition also includes access to 10 hours of cloud gaming per month via Microsoft's Xbox Cloud Gaming service for no extra charge, removing the need for dedicated hardware to install and play the available games.

On top of the Game Pass partnership, Meta also announced today that the Meta Quest Touch controllers will soon be able to emulate Microsoft's Xbox controllers.

"Rolling out in the coming weeks, the gamepad emulator maps your Meta Quest Touch controllers to function like an XBOX controller, so you can jump into Game Pass games right away. Try XBOX games without pairing a gamepad," explained Meta. "Already have a gamepad? Simply pair it to your headset for a traditional controller experience."

The Meta Horizon+ subscription comes in at $59.99 per year, or $7.99 per month. A one-month trial program is also available over here.
