And then CD Projekt Red went and announced The Witcher 3 Remastered, a souped-up version of the 2015 masterpiece that’s coming September 29 (that’s next week). That brings the price down to a very reasonable $24.99. That gets you the complete edition, which includes the base game, plus two sizable expansions: Hearts of Stone as well as Blood and Wine.

According to Howlongtobeat, that’s roughly 76.5 hours of gameplay time if you stick just to the main story. If you choose to go the completionist route, you’ll have roughly 233 hours of gameplay. Even if you don’t play any other games, that could keep you busy until the release of the third expansion, Songs of the Past, which arrives sometime next year.

When it launches on Tuesday, September 29, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered will be a free upgrade for anyone who owns the original game. It includes tweaks and improvements to the graphics, in-game traversal, photo mode, and skill tree. It also adds an armor transmog system, new enemy behaviors, and new finishers. Basically, it sounds like it’s worth checking out even if you’ve already played the original game.

The free upgrade even applies to owners of The Witcher 3 on the original Nintendo Switch. If you have that game, you’ll be eligible for a free copy of The Witcher 3 Remastered for Switch 2, since it’s not coming out on the original Switch.
