Rayman Legends Retold release date, pre-order and latest news

The Rayman Legends Retold release date isn't far off, and this time the Glade of Dreams has been rebuilt from the ground up with some fun new features to boot.

Ubisoft used Sony's June 2026 State of Play to unveil Rayman Legends Retold, a full reimagining of the much-loved 2013 platformer, and confirmed it will arrive on modern hardware later this year.

Co-developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan, Retold trades the original's hand-drawn look for a 3D presentation running in Ubisoft's Snowdrop engine, while keeping the tight level geometry that made Legends such a precise platformer.

Below we round up everything confirmed so far, including the release date, platforms, pre-order details and what the gameplay trailer has shown.

When is the Rayman Legends Retold release date?

The Rayman Legends Retold release date is 1 October 2026, Ubisoft has confirmed.

Retold arrives in a crowded October for gaming. It shares its 1 October launch day with Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, before the month builds towards some of the year's biggest hitters.

Gears of War: E-Day and Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed are lined up for 6 October, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Final Fantasy Resonance among the marquee titles later in the month on 22 October.

Other notable releases dotted through the month include Planet Zoo 2 and Valor Mortis on 13 October and Phantom Blade 0 on 29 October, making for a busy window in which Rayman's colourful platforming has an early head start.

Can I pre-order Rayman Legends Retold?

Yes. Rayman Legends Retold is available to pre-order now ahead of its 1 October launch, with listings live on the Ubisoft Store, Steam and other storefronts including Amazon.

The PC version requires a Ubisoft Connect account regardless of where you buy it, so keep that in mind if you are picking it up through Steam or the Epic Games Store.

Which consoles and platforms can play Rayman Legends Retold?

Rayman Legends Retold is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. On PC, it is available via Ubisoft Connect, Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Cloud and subscription players are covered too, with the game confirmed for Ubisoft+, GeForce Now and Blacknut. Notably, this is the first mainline Rayman remake to target the Nintendo Switch 2 alongside the current-generation consoles.

Retold rebuilds the 2013 platformer in 3D while preserving its original level layouts, so classic side-scrolling stages now play out in 2.5D with a dynamic camera that pulls back and tilts to reveal depth and the curvature of the world. Levels are reached through portals in a grand fantasy overworld rather than by leaping into paintings.

The headline new mechanic is a set of dragon rides, forward-scrolling 3D shoot-'em-up sequences in which you dodge hazards, pull barrel rolls and fire at enemies, acting as connective tissue between the worlds of the Glade of Dreams.

Ubisoft has also added a brand-new sixth world, four new musical rhythm levels and an expanded Kung Foot Evo multiplayer mode.

The story-side gets an overhaul too, with an immersive new narrative and fully voiced cinematics, and returning voice talent including David Gasman and Billy West. Players can once again team up as Rayman, Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus and Murfy, with couch co-op supported through the campaign.
