aylor Sheridan Confirms Major Yellowstone Spinoff Series Is Officially Dead After 5 Years
Taylor Sheridan has lost interest in a particular Yellowstone spinoff.
In the wake of the Kevin Costner-led neo-Western show's success with its third season, Paramount began development on a variety of spinoffs, namely the prequels, 1883 and 1923, both of which proved critical and viewership successes for Paramount+. However, as focus shifted to continuing the mainline characters with the Beth and Rip-led Dutton Ranch and Kayce-centric Marshals, others have seemingly landed on the backburner, including the third prequel, 1944.
Now, during a recent appearance on Dale Brisby's Rodeo Time podcast, Sheridan was asked for an update on the previously announced Yellowstone spinoff set on The Four Sixes Ranch in Texas. Despite the show having been announced some five years ago, the franchise boss officially confirmed that the spinoff is now dead, saying that "there's never going to be one," as he could "never fictionalize that ranch."
