Fortnite Sprites explained: All Sprites and how to use them — Gaming

Sprites have been a staple of Chapter 7 Season 4, with the cute (and useful!) little fellas being dotted all around the Override Island, and we've got all there is to know about Sprites explained, as well as how extractions work, how to summon them and how to level your Sprite up.

Some Sprites are extra handy when it comes to Fortnite island cheat codes, and you're even able to unlock some with Lobby Hack codes.

And with the latest Fortnite update, there are even new Sprites for us to make pals with, as well as a new Loot Hacker variant.

With that said, there's plenty to be getting on with, so read on for the full scoop on Fortnite Sprites!

What are Sprites in Fortnite?

Fortnite Sprites are small, adorable creatures that will help you out in battle royale — but you have to find them first!

There are 14 different types of Sprites to be found in-game currently, and each of these has a Cheat Master, Gold, as well as a Loot Hacker variant.

X-Ray Sprite – Periodically mark enemies in an area around you
Onigiri Sprite – Applies Overdrive after eating or drinking a consumable item
Mega Man Sprite – Slip and slide around with reduced friction
Overshield Sprite – Grants Overshield, scaling with Sprite Level
8-Bit Sprite – Find an 8-Bit Shotgun in your first Chest and gain a score multiplier for it
Adventure Sprite – Upgrade a random item in your inventory at each Level
Bush Sprite – Spawns a Bush on you after a duration. At max Level, gain a Bush on elimination
Crown Sprite – Gain extra Crown Wins after getting a Victory Royale. You can only level it up by winning matches
Jackrabbit Sprite – Perform another jump while mid-air
Jonesy Sprite – After a short duration, recover some Health or Shield after being damaged
Killswitch Sprite – Enter Hangtime with improved accuracy
Klombo Sprite – A loyal friend returns, but is very rare to find. Grants random items at each level. You can only level it up by using consumable items that give Health or Shield
Shadow Sprite – Automatically reload weapons over time even when unequipped
Sonic Sprite – Gotta Go Fast! Sprint faster
Tails Sprite – Hover with the Help of Tails!

The Cheat Master variants allow you to button-mash the cheat codes found across the Override island, rather than hit the right inputs. Loot Hacker variants of sprites increase your chances of getting specific, high-rarity weapons from chests during a match after you activate them at an Override Console.

More Sprites have been added to the game files, but they are not actually active within Fortnite yet!

How to use, extract and level up Sprites in Fortnite

To use Sprites in Fortnite, you first need to find and equip them. This will grant you their base abilities, but they will become more useful as you level them up. Sprites have a level cap of Level 5, and you can level up sprites by extracting sprites, eliminating other players, opening chests and containers and completing cheat codes.

If you want to take a Sprite into another match, you will have to extract it, which can be done by either using an Extraction Site or a Portable Extractor.

Extraction Sites are located on the map, and when you find one, you need to call a crate by activating the control panel. This process takes a short while, so expect to fend off other players during this time. Once the crate arrives, you need to put the Sprite inside, after which there will be a short wait until it departs.

Once extracted, you will be rewarded with Sprite Dust, which can be used to summon Sprites or purchase items from Sprite Services, such as Portable Extractors.

Portable Extractors, as noted, can be obtained via Sprite Services, and all you need to do is activate it in your inventory when you have a Sprite equipped.

How to summon Sprites in Fortnite

Before dropping from the Battle Bus, you need to access the Sprite Menu and spend Sprite Dust to summon it.

Once summoned, you need to equip it, at which point it will float around your character, acting as Back Bling.
