Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 Time Jump Length Revealed

There will be a time jump in the storyline when Daredevil: Born Again returns for its third season, and one of the show's stars just revealed how much time will have passed.

Disney is releasing seasons of Daredevil: Born Again one year apart, defying a trend seen with a lot of shows that sometimes have a two-to-three-year hiatus, even when no time has passed in the plot. Daredevil: Born Again season 2 jumped forward about six months when it premiered earlier this year, as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin's hold on the city took root.

A similar time jump will occur when Daredevil: Born Again season 3 premieres in 2027, according to Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays Fisk. During a recent GalaxyCon panel in Raleigh, North Carolina, the actor revealed (via The Direct) that the storyline "pick[s] up literally only six months after the second season ends."

There will be a lot of action unfolding on screen, with D'Onofrio teasing that "it's a completely different feeling inside and out during the new iteration" when his character and Daredevil reunite.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 ended with Matt Murdock revealing during Karen Page's trial that he's actually Daredevil, which eventually led to him getting arrested.

As for Fisk, the antagonist went into exile after agreeing to a deal that meant he didn't have to face charges. D'Onofrio confirmed that Fisk will be in exile when the third season begins, but he refused to divulge "where I am."

"There's a lot of action in season 3 and we picked up literally only six months after the second season ends. So, [Daredevil] went to prison, I got exiled somewhere. I'm not going to say where, but I am and then, you know, because we can't help it, we get back together again. But you know, it's a completely different feeling inside and out during the new iteration."

Fisk will be in a much different place, literally and figuratively, in Daredevil: Born Again season 3. Throughout the series, he's been building up his power in New York City, which started when he ran for mayor on an anti-vigilante platform.

After he won and was sworn in, Fisk created the Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF), a corrupt organization that the mayor formed under the guise of restoring order in the city.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 saw the AVTF's power expand. By the end of the season finale, though, the group disbanded when Fisk went into exile.

With around seven months until Daredevil: Born Again returns to Disney+, details about the upcoming season are sparse. It's unclear how Fisk and Daredevil cross paths again, or how the antagonist will try to build up his power and influence once more.

After the Daredevil: Born Again season 2 finale was released in early May 2026, Marvel Studios debuted two Marvel Cinematic Universe projects: The Punisher: One Last Kill and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It's unknown if either of these will have an impact on the third season, but the recently released Spider-Man film did include some direct connections to Daredevil.

Filming for Daredevil: Born Again season 3 ended in late July, with D'Onofrio, Charlie Cox and Deborah Ann Woll all returning as Fisk, Matt Murdock and Karen Page, respectively. The countdown is now on for the return of the fan-favorite superhero series.
