GTA 6 Story Spoilers May Begin Leaking Soon
Story spoilers for Grand Theft Auto 6 might finally begin making their way online in the near future. Over the past week, countless gameplay videos from GTA 6 have been leaked onto the internet. Up until this point, most of these videos have primarily featured new looks at the world and various gameplay elements that will be seen in the game. And while details of the narrative for GTA 6 have largely remained shrouded in mystery, that might not end up holding true for much longer.
As part of the release of a new GTA 6 gameplay video today, the leaker at the center of this ongoing situation, known only as “Cyberleek”, asked viewers if they’d like to next see footage from Lucia’s section of the game. Specifically, they mentioned showing off moments from the prologue centered around Lucia. While those online will now be left to vote on whether or not they’d like to see clips from this part of GTA 6, this could represent the first big wave of leaks centered around the game’s story and characters.
If story spoilers for GTA 6 began coming to light, it would almost certainly represent a new low point for Rockstar as part of this ordeal. Rockstar made the divisive decision earlier this year not to release GTA 6 in a physical capacity, primarily as a way of ensuring that leaks and info tied to its story wouldn’t emerge ahead of the game’s launch. For these details to potentially begin circulating anyway, in spite of this move, would make its push to forgo a physical release that much more disappointing to millions of fans.
Currently, reports indicate that Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, are trying to find the culprit(s) at the center of these leaks. Not only is Rockstar said to be unaware of how a playable build of Grand Theft Auto 6 fell into the hands of someone outside of the company, but those still working on the project are said to have been greatly demoralized by this situation. For Cyberleek to still be sharing footage of the game routinely suggests that Rockstar isn’t close to finding the leaker, which could prompt more videos to continue popping up online.
Later this week on August 27th, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be getting its first official gameplay showing when footage of the game debuts on Netflix. This presentation is reportedly not in danger of being canceled by Rockstar, despite the situation tied to the game’s leaks. As for its launch, GTA 6 is still on track to arrive at the end of this year on November 19th, when it will become available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
