Blizzard Partners With Netflix for Animated Diablo Series

Blizzard Entertainment has partnered with Netflix. The first product of that partnership will be an animated adaptation of Diablo. Johanna Faries, Blizzard’s president, announced the partnership at the start of BlizzCon 2026.

Although no official footage or release date was shown, Faries said this is only the beginning of the partnership. She teased exciting developments in the pipeline for the Overwatch Community, the Warcraft community, and others.

“I begged and pleaded to be able to share more, but I can’t spill the beans just yet. I promise, as soon as we can, we will share more details with you,” she concluded.

Netflix Prices

While Diablo is the latest game to officially get an adaptation on Netflix, this is no longer a novelty. Netflix alone has adaptations of Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider, League of Legends, Cyberpunk 2077, and Sonic the Hedgehog.

Other streaming platforms have adaptations in the works for Tomb Raider, Far Cry, God of War, Life Is Strange, and more. Elsewhere, classic games are being turned into movies, including The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., and Minecraft.

Netflix is also venturing into game development. Recently, it closed two studios, but it remains committed to becoming a leading source of interactive storytelling.

Additionally, Netflix made history by streaming the first official extended preview of Grand Theft Auto 6. The event led to thousands of new sign-ups.
