Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Gives Us Another Playable Minthara Romance Scene
Minthara Gets A Much Needed Act 3 Romance Scene Thanks To This Baldur's Gate 3 Mod
In Baldur’s Gate 3, you have a range of paths you can take when it comes to romance - but some of them are much shorter than others. One character with a tragically small amount of romance content is Minthara, despite being one of the most interesting members of your party.
In fact, if you are playing as a good guy, there’s a good chance you will never get a romance scene with Minthara. That’s because her (incredibly raunchy) sex scene is in Act 1, and is locked behind helping her raid the Emerald Grove. Yes, if you want to get freaky with your drow girlfriend, you have to kill children. If you don’t, you can still get with her later, but there will be no getting freaky on screen.
Thankfully, a fan has come to the rescue. A newly released mod, A Beautiful Webbing - Act 3 - Minthara Romance Scenes, expands the Minthara romance so she actually has stuff going on at the same time the other romances would.
This Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Is Essential If You Want To Romance Minthara
This mod adds two romance scenes for Minthara in Act 3. The first is her Act 1 goblin camp sex scene, which now triggers in the lower city camp instead.
The mod’s name is a reference to a joke Minthara (reluctantly) makes in Act 3.
Player: “Tell the one about the man who married a drider!”
Minthara: (Deadpan) “It was a beautiful webbing.”
The second scene is brand new, created by mod author HyperspaceTowel. We aren’t told too much about this, other than it uses animations from other romances to give Minthara a scene of her own. It activates when long resting in the lower city after Orin has been defeated.
If you want to space everything out, there’s another Beautiful Webbing mod from whatsontheflip, which makes the goblin camp scene play out in Act 2 instead. That would leave you with the new custom scene in Act 3, and gives Minthara more to do in the second act, which is usually spent just recruiting her and dealing with the cult that brainwashed her.
These mods aren’t available to console players just yet, and it’s unclear if they will be. Neither mod author has mentioned anything about porting it over, and mods that release on console are much more limited; this might just change too much to be possible.
