Every Tom Holland Spider-Man Suit, Ranked By Power Level

Spider-Man made his MCU debut ten years ago this summer. The iconic web crawler, played for the first time by Tom Holland, appeared in 2016s Captain America: Civil War, starring alongside MCU mainstays like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, and more.

Since Civil War, Spider-Man has been on quite a journey in the MCU. The character’s next appearance was in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which marked his full, solo debut in the universe. As fans will remember, Spider-Man went on to become a main hero in the Avengers team in both Infinity War and Endgame, with several other solo films sprinkled along the way.

Across these appearances, Spider-Man has had a number of unique looks. Holland’s iteration of the character started out in Civil War in the Stark Suit, designed by Tony Stark and made specifically for the battle against Captain America’s team. Since then, Spider-Man has transitioned to a number of other suits as well.

For example, Tony Stark made Peter Parker another suit, named the Iron Spider, for the battles in Infinity War and Endgame. Overall, the MCU Spider-Man has had a number of looks over the years, but some suits, like the Iron Spider, stand out as among the most powerful suits he’s ever worn.

Homemade Suit (Spider-Man: Homecoming)

The least powerful suit that Earth 616 Spider-Man has worn is the homemade suit, which is seen briefly in Civil War and then is worn in the final act of 2017s Homecoming. The homemade suit is made entirely of cloth and, much like the other equivalent suits in previous Spider-Man movies (worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield), the suit lacks any amenities or features.

Overall, the only thing that the homemade suit does to help Spider-Man is that it conceals Peter’s identity by proving a facial disguise. Other than that, there’s no AI interface or protective armor, as many of the other suits have.

Night Monkey Suit (Spider-Man: Far From Home)

In Far From Home, Peter Parker is faced with a dilemma. After Tony Stark's death, Spider-Man is needed in Europe, where Peter is on summer vacation, but wearing his regular suit leaves the risk of his identity being figured out by his classmates.

Peter’s solution is to wear a stealth suit, which has similar eyes to Spider-Man but is coated in all black material. Locals dub the hero the Night Monkey, and Spider-Man then fights the various multiversal monsters alongside Mysterio (before he finds out who is really behind the attacks). The Night Monkey suit provides protective armor for Peter, something that the homemade suit didn’t, but it lacks many of the features of Spider-Man’s more powerful suits overall.

Stark Suit (Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home)

The first suit that Tom Holland wore in the MCU is the Stark Suit. As stated, this was designed by Tony Stark so that Peter could join the battle in Europe against Captain America’s team of heroes in a period of infighting in the Avengers team. Peter then wears the Stark suit again for a majority of Homecoming, and it’s seen again briefly in Far From Home.

The Stark suit is much more powerful than the homemade or Night Monkey ones. Tony included artificial intelligence within the suit that would help Spider-Man, and the suit is so powerful that the hero also integrated a "training wheels" protocol so that Peter wouldn’t get overwhelmed.

The Stark suit provides Peter plenty of combat help in Civil War and Homecoming, and is always implied to be far more powerful than the hero knew what to do with (in large part because he skipped the training program Tony designed).

Red And Black Suit (Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home)

The Stark suit is eventually destroyed, which leaves Peter stranded without a disguise or a suit to help him in battle. Peter’s solution is to use Tony’s technology to build his own suit, but this time around, the colors are changed. For the first time in live action, Peter wears a red and black suit, reminiscent of some of his earlier comic book looks.

The red and black suit is, in many ways, an upgrade to the Stark suit. As it was made years later, the technology is further along, which means the suit is far more advanced than previous iterations. Additionally, Peter was the one who designed this suit, meaning that he was able to tailor it to his own specific needs in battle, making it even more powerful overall.

No Way Home Ending Suit (Spider-Man: No Way Home)

At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter is left with a fraction of the life he once had. Aunt May is gone, and his friends MJ and Ned don’t remember that he exists. All that’s left in Peter’s life, then, is Spider-Man. To mark that change, the hero makes a new suit from scratch, and one that’s powerful because of those that inspired it.

In No Way Home, Peter meets two multiversal versions of himself (the aforementioned returns of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield). These two help to inspire MCU Spider-Man’s new suit at the ending of the film, as the character designs the suit as a homage to the other versions of Peter (raised webbing for Maguire, big eyes like Garfield). Not only that, Peter also borrows some of the suit designs that make his new suit even more powerful.

Brand New Day Suit (Spider-Man: Brand New Day)

The No Way Home suit is tweaked for Brand New Day, and with these changes come upgrades that help make Peter’s newest look even more powerful. One of the biggest changes is the addition of an AI interface, much like the earlier Stark-made suits, which helps to give Peter guidance in battle.

The suit withstands plenty of dangerous battles in Brand New Day, too. Spider-Man goes up against a number of classic villains, from Scorpion to Tarantula and Tombstone, and also faces the powerful Jean Grey. Yet, the suit remains intact throughout, showcasing how strong it is overall.

Integrated Suit (Spider-Man: No Way Home)

In No Way Home, a Mysterio supporter throws bright green paint at Spider-Man’s red and black suit, which means Peter has to improvise. He turns the suit inside out to battle Electro and Sandman for the first time, before giving it to Aunt May so that she can clean it.

From there, Peter dons the red and black suit as he begins the process of curing the multiversal villains. After Doc Ock is returned to normal, the nanotechnology on his tentacles goes onto Spider-Man, creating the integrated suit. This blends the power of the Iron Spider suit and the red and black suit, making it one of the strongest Peter has ever worn in the MCU.

Iron Spider Suit (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home)

The most powerful suit Spider-Man has worn in the MCU is the Iron Spider suit. Equipped with nanotechnology and an AI interface, the Iron Spider suit has unmatched power in battle. The suit also has built in oxygen so that Peter can fight in space, which helps as he and Tony track Thanos on other planets.
