Gundam: Raging Onslaught Officially Arrives September 2026

Gundam covered in fire from Rogue Orbit

SInce first debuting in 1979, the Gundam franchise has really grown beyond all recognition for those who have been keeping up in the intervening years. There are TV shows and movies, as well as myriad physical releases, or Gunpla, that have arguably become the most popular element of the IP as a whole.

Whichever bit of it you happen to be into, it's always nice when a new release comes along that brings the franchise forwards, or gives potential new fans a way to get into the whole thing. As it happens, that's exactly why we're here, and pre-orders are open right now if you want to get involved.

Gundam Card Game

Over on the Asmodee website, you should be able to find the listing for the latest starter deck for the official Gundam Card Game, because it seems as though every IP is doubling down on getting into cards in a big way. The Raging Onslaught Starter Deck is currently available for pre-order, with an expected release date of September 25 currently mooted.

In total, there are plans for four types of Starter Deck, each with a different battle style depending on how you like to play. In sharing what fans can expect from this one, Bandai released the following brief description:

"A Red‑Purple starter deck that includes many units skilled in close combat, such as “Gundam Epyon”. In addition to being strong in 1‑on‑1 battles, it also contains many cards that truly shine in multiplayer matches."

The box essentially also includes everything you will need to get started with play, including:

  • x1 Ready-to-play 50-card deck
  • x10 Resource Cards
  • x2 Token Cards
  • x1 Paper Damage Counter
  • x1 Rule/Playsheet
  • x1 Bonus Pack

The game itself is also expanding rapidly overall, with a ton of new sets releasing all the time. These obviously include alternate Starter Decks, as well as booster packs and boxes, anniversary sets and other products, all of which are helping it rise rapidly through the pantheon of card games globally.

Gundam Rogue Orbit gameplay cinematic screencap

There are plenty of other Gundam projects coming down the pipeline for fans to look forward to as well, most notably Gundam Rogue Orbit. Announced during Summer Games Fest, it is a high-mobility action game set in a brand-new universe for the franchise, with a release expected in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. In the meantime, why not grab a few cards and see if you can pull anything cool?
