Here's How You Can Resolve Surface Pinching in Blender

Jan van den Hemel shows two ways of creating a perfect surface in a short video.
3D Artist Jan van den Hemel, an author of many Blender tutorials and the nearly 2,000 pages e-book, Blender Secrets, started publishing a series of short videos with tips for digital creators.
The first clip overviews methods for resolving surface pinching in Blender:
The artist explained several ways to remove a bump from a surface. The first is to go into Vertex Selection mode, press Alt + S, and it will be scaled along the normal direction. Another method is to find the offending vertex, select it, press Ctrl + I, right-click, go to Loop Tools, and select Curve.
For bigger surface imperfections, Jan van den Hemel suggests selecting them and deleting the vertices, then selecting the boundary with Alt and left-clicking, pressing Ctrl + F, and selecting Grid Fill. If that doesn't work well, the artist notes that you can select just the two sides of the hole and then repeat the process.
After this clip, Jan van den Hemel already shared two new videos in the series: on preparing topology before boolean cutting using Shrinkwrap and a clip with a piece of advice on using a Curve Face Color add-on by Kushiro, a creator of multiple Blender add-ons, together with Exoside's Quad Remesher add-on to quickly retopologize hard-surface meshes.
