Helldivers 2 Now Has A Real-Life Teddy You Can't Buy Until You Unlock The Right Trophy
Today is a very big day for Helldivers 2 for a variety of reasons. One you might have missed is that the sequel now has a Super Merch store. There are currently just two items available, and if you want to buy them, you’re going to have to get back to defending Super Earth right away.
The two items currently up for grabs from the Super Merch store are a Private Teddy Snuggles plush, which puts an adorable teddy bear in Helldiver gear, and a Hell Commander Pin. The pin is a real-life replica of the medal you earn in-game when you hit level 100.
Helldivers 2's New Merch Is Only For Dedicated Players
Here comes the first of two caveats. Much like the game, if you want this real-life version of the Hell Commander medal, you’ll have to hit level 100 to get it. The Super Merch store requires you to enter your PSN login - or the equivalent for other platforms - so that a check can be performed to make sure you’re eligible to make the purchase. Only those who have hit level 100 are eligible to buy the pin.
What about the teddy bear? Unfortunately, that’s locked behind an in-game trophy, too. Thankfully, not one that’s quite as arduous to get as the Hell Commander Pin. All you have to do to be eligible to buy the bear is complete 75 missions. If you’re short on that number, get back to it, Helldiver. What, you thought the battle to save Super Earth was over? It’s only just begun.
Unlocking Trophies Only Earns You The Right To Then Spend Money
Notice how I was very careful to keep using the word “buy” up until this point. That’s where the second caveat comes in. PlayStation won’t be giving you a plush and a pin out of the kindness of its heart when you hit level 100 and complete 75 missions. No, doing those things just gives you the chance to then pay money for them. The bear costs $40, and the pin is $25.
If you’ve already done both of those things, then good news: if you have a spare $65, both of those exclusive items can now be yours. If not, and you want them, you have until February 28, 2027. Once you have met the criteria, or if you have already, you have until March 31, 2027, to buy the items.
This appears to be an extension of the Franchise Rewards program PlayStation launched in 2025, although there’s no sign of that branding anywhere on this latest Helldivers drop. The first game to offer rewards like this was Ghost of Tsushima, with a pin available to buy for unlocking its Platinum Trophy, and a T-shirt if you earned Tsushima’s Mono No Aware trophy. Tough luck if this is the first you’re hearing of this. Even if you have those trophies, the exclusive items are no longer available.
There will almost certainly be more people playing Helldivers 2 today than there has been in quite some time. Not just because there’s a teddy bear up for grabs if you play enough missions, but because the sequel is joining the Extra and Premium tiers of PS Plus to celebrate its big new Devoid of Liberty update.
