The Blood of Dawnwalker's least popular ending reveals the clear romance favourite

Many launch day Blood of Dawnwalker players are now nearing the end of their first playthrough, and it’s bringing certain truths to light.

There are multiple ways you can complete the game in The Blood of Dawnwalker.

The unconventional methods include defeating vrakhiri leader Brencis in the prologue, finding a gate that leads out of Vale Sangora - leaving your family behind - and becoming trapped in a dream sequence loop for eternity.

To conventionally complete the game, however, you’re going to want to fight Brencis ahead of his coronation at the end of the game’s 30 day timer.

How you do that, again, can vary. You can parlay with Brencis after maxing out your infamy, or you can choose to charge on Greifberg Castle alongside Crake, Lacra, or alone.

Well, trophy stats are now starting to reveal which option players aren’t choosing and, well, poor old Crake may just be The Blood of Dawnwalker’s least popular romance option.

Most players are facing off against Brencis with Lacra by their side

Correct at the time of writing, 21.1% of The Blood of Dawnwalker players have currently rolled credits on the game with 18.1% having successfully saved Coen’s family.

The most popular approach in the endgame is to follow Lacra’s lead, striking Brencis’ stronghold at night. Currently, 12.1% of players have achieved the trophy for this.

I’m not at all surprised by that. It was my own approach as a) I preferred using my vampiric powers in combat and b) the off-the-charts chemistry between Lacra and Coen was too impossible to resist.

In second place, 8.3% of players have chosen to take on Brencis solo.

There are a couple of ways to do this. You can find a key to a side entrance of Greifberg Castle in the game’s open-world or you can complete Father Florin’s questline to be taught a secret knock.

In third place, 5.4% of players chose to parlay with Brencis and while I won’t be sharing any spoilers, it’s not a path I’d recommend, with two equally abysmal outcomes.

Finally, just 5.1% of players chose to march on Brencis and Greifberg during the day alongside Crake and the Manumit rebels. Poor Crake, or Marat as you later learn him to be called.

Does that officially dub Crake the game’s least popular romance option? It’s hard to say as players may be thinking tactically in that final portion of the game, rather than particularly siding with their favourite romance character.

There’s also the fact that there’s no option to take on Brencis alongside Anca, so her popularity is hard to judge.

The Blood of Dawnwalker community has noticed the lack of Crake appreciation though.

“Nah he has too much ‘sacrifice everyone to win’ energy for me as a human,” wrote Reddit user wherewolfad.

“I did it because I'm an achievement hunter but he definitely was the least interesting out of the three other characters; I still liked him but yeah,” added HelleboreM.

“They do a really bad job at making his path the right one to choose,” King_Of_Thunderr said.

While I did like Crake, his romance scene with Coen is significantly more underwhelming compared to Anca and Lacra’s, plus his plan is to replace Brencis with an evil dictator, so that’s not exactly an inviting sell.

Lacra, on the other hand, has a long history with Brencis and a very good reason for disliking him, as revealed in her questline. Plus there’s the ongoing mystery surrounding her ‘employers’, the Augers.

Again, without any stats for Anca, it’s hard to rank the game’s romance options but at the moment, over Crake, it’s certainly easy to see that it's Lacra coming out on top.
